Buriram takes team building events to newer pastures

Located in the lower northeastern part of Thailand, Buriram greets incentive travel groups with warm smiles, a rich culture and bountiful history.

With Thailand reopened, incentive travel groups are exploring less-trodden destinations that bring about fresh perspectives and a renewed appreciation for the work they do and the world they live in. Buriram Province in Thailand is the location of significant ancient remains during Kmer civilization such as the Phanom Rung Historical Park and the Muangtam Historical Park.

Additionally, the province is home to Chang Arena, a 32,600-seat sports stadium that was established as the home stadium of Buriram United Football Club. Aside from being a sports stadium, it is the venue for special events and MICE (meetings, incentives, conventions and exhibitions) activities.

Phanom Rung, a temple complex that is over 1,000 years old, is touted to be the most beautiful Khmer Monument in Thailand. The province and its capital share the name, which accurately translates to ‘a pleasant town’, capturing the spirit of the place perfectly.

The region’s rusty terrain and Khmer heritage, with over 60 temples situated over extinct volcanoes make for interesting tourist attractions. Sport enthusiasts can also find pleasure in visits to the city’s football stadium and motorsport race track, which are especially bustling over the weekend.

Other venues such as the Wetland and Eastern Sarus Crane Conservation Center welcomes corporate groups to learn about the local wildlife and vegetation. Ban Ta Long Village, the OTOP Inno-Life tourism-based community, is unique for Thai rice growing and silk weaving. Groups can visit and learn about the local way of life, and at the same time find common activities that build camaraderie and cohesiveness among teams.

This location has much to offer for business events, including infrastructure, high-quality hotels, and conference spaces that blend in old with new. It is ideal for events that spread over a couple of days. Attendees get a mix of the local flavour and cuisines, with plenty of activity options for partners and families.
